Iowa City School to be Relocated

The building that housed the Moy Yat Kung Fu family in Iowa City since 1993 was demolished today. The school was the training location for hundreds of students of the Ving Tsun system and the first authentic Ving Tsun (wing chun) school in the midwest.  I started my training under Sifu Robert Squatrito here in 1997.  The building will be missed but the kung fu will continue to thrive in Iowa. My kung fu brothers Sifu Rob Burns and Sifu Bryan Pierce are already working on a new location for the next generation of Iowa City Ving Tsun students. During the transition period, Sifu Andrew Knapp has invited the Iowa City students to train at his Coralville location.

Holiday Training Day

Holiday Training Day

On Saturday December 6th, we had our holiday training session. We started the day with dim sum (Chinese brunch) at New Fortune Restaurant. Students made their way the the school and trained hard all day and into the evening. We finished the night with a kung fu family dinner. Below are some pictures from the event.
